Matt Johnson, 50 years old, a Surfer, recreational Kickboxer, Weight Trainer, Father of three and restauranteur had been struggling with severe elbow pain for over a year. “It got to the point where the pain was so extreme, I couldn’t shake my three year old daughter's hand without wincing” he recalls “ I had to go back to zero, no lifting or training, my grip strength had disappeared, surfing had to stop and I was basically functioning with one arm.” After having scans it was revealed that Matt had Tendinopathy (Tendonitis) and a partial thickness tear measuring 4-5 mm, compromising 25-50% of tendon thickness in his right elbow.

Relieved, Matt thought his problems were finally solved. “I was really happy.” Matt says. “After all this time I finally had answers.”

But after numerous physiotherapy sessions, PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) therapy, and needling, the months ticked by without any real result, and it was getting expensive. “I basically stopped using my arm,” says Matt, “which was really tough mentally. I’m a person who needs to keep moving and I’m not getting any younger, so my consistency went out the door,”

It was a chance meeting that set Matt on his path to recovery. “A friend asked why I wasn’t surfing anymore,’ Matt recalls, “I told him my story and he asked if I’d heard about BPC-157.” “I went home and started researching.”

BPC-157 Benefits in Injury Repair and Recovery

BPC-157 is a compound peptide that is fast gaining interest in the wellness and anti-aging industry and is known for its ability to accelerate the healing of injuries including tendon and ligament damage. Often referred to as “The Wolverine Elixir,” BPC-157 is believed to work by stimulating the formation of new blood vessels, enhancing blood flow to the injured area to speed the healing process, and promoting the growth of the cells responsible for producing connective tissue. BPC-157 will not only lead to tendon healing but also regeneration over time.

Studies have also shown the potential in repairing and protecting the gastrointestinal (GI) tract treating conditions such as leaky gut, gastric ulcers and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), by reducing inflammation, promoting tissue regeneration and maintaining the integrity of the gastrointestinal lining.

Road to Recovery

So Matt went to the doctor for a prescription. “Three weeks later the pain started to fade, five weeks later I was back in the gym, and I was blown away” says Matt bending and straightening his arm with enthusiasm. He’s been using BPC-157 ever since, injecting the peptide into his abdomen five days a week.

“Honestly, I feel stronger than I did twenty years ago,” Matt beams, “I’ve got way more energy, and vitality and I’m sleeping better.”

The Future

BPC-157 peptide therapy has massive potential in treating pain, injury and gut related conditions in humans. While clinical studies are o going and the appeal is strong, it is recommended to seek medical advice and only administer via prescription
